Because I think the Clankers would develop phones and cars (anyone else catch the bit about how Klopp, Bauer, and Hoffman were going to work for Ford to manufacture passenger walkers?) and calculators and eventually iPods and tablets and computers and ALL THE TECHNOLOGICAL WONDERFULNESS THAT IS THE TRADEMARK OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY!!~

Also, I love the two (TWO! TWO! AND THEY NEVER UPDATE!! </whiny fangirl brat>) fics on FF.net in the Leviathan section that have Alek, Deryn, etc using social networking sites.
They're REALLY FUNNY, and one of them has OCs! And they aren't Mary Sues! Fuck yes!

Also, Alek isn't mine, he's Scott-La's, and the fanfics in question belong to whoever wrote them.
